| To provide students with basic knowledge on medicines, herbal drugs, medicinal plants, their main active substances and the biosynthesis of active substances. |

| Study outcome |
Upon completion of the subject, the student:
1. Knows the medicinal plants and the drugs derived thereof.
2. Knows the most important groups of active substances in medicinal plants, the chemical structure and biosynthesis mechanisms of these substances.
3. Is familiar with the substances on which the therapeutic effect of the most important medicinal plants and herbal drugs depends on.
4. Knows the principles of collection, drying and storage of medicinal plants. |
