Objective
To give students the basic knowledge of the structure of organic, ompounds, their physical and chemical properties and their mutual relationships. |

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the subject, the student:
1. Knows the basic concepts of organic chemistry;
2. Is able to characterize the most important organic compounds (hydrocarbons, oxygen, and nitrogen-containing compounds, aromatic compounds, heterocyclic compounds) and their use in medicine;
3. Knows the principles of synthesis of organic compounds;
4. Is able to explain the properties of chemical compounds and inter-relationships between compounds. |
