Objective
To give the students knowledge of the mechanism of action, the side-effects and clinical use of drugs. Passing Pharmacology is a prerequisite for studying Pharmacotherapy. |

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the subject, the student:
1) understands the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs;
2) has knowledge of the effects of drugs on the body and of the factors influencing the effects;
3) knows the different ways of administration of medicines and the effects of a drug depending on the form of medicine and the way of administration of the medicine;
4) has knowledge of drug groups, their pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, dosing, contraindications and side effects;
5) is able to use pharmacology-related reference books, manuals and online resources. |
