| To provide an overview of the psychosocial risk factors affecting mental health of a human, the principles of psychotherapy and the nurse's role while conducting psychotherapy and applying therapeutic communication techniques. |

| Study outcome |

1. Is familiar with the psychosocial risk factors having impact on the mental health of a person and is able to find evidence-based solutions for reducing risk factors.
2. Knows and understands the nature and principles of evidence-based psychotherapy and a nurse's role and responsibility in the therapeutic processes.
3. Understands the main therapeutic communication techniques in the communication process, i.e., nurse - patient - family and is able to apply her or his knowledge in practical work. |
