| Preparing for provision of nursing care to patients in need of intensive care and to their relatives. |

| Study outcome |

1. Is able to perform intensive nursing operations, including resuscitation with technical aids, assistance of incubation, tracheal suctioning and patient monitoring.
2. Is able to complete documentation required in intensive nursing.
3. Knows the primary used drug groups in the intensive care unit, describes their effects on the patient and to her or his relatives.
4. Knows the general principles of intensive nursing.
5. Is able to plan and evaluate nursing activities according to individual patient needs and ethical principles; upon emergence of problems finds professional evidence-based solutions. |
