| To acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes of providing midwifery/nursing care for a newborn. |

| Study outcome |
1. Defines the needs for midwifery/nursing care and problems related to
neonatal diseases proceeding from evidence-based practice.
2. Describes different examination and observation methods of a newborn
baby.
3. Creates connections between pregnancy, birth process, postnatal period, further adaptation of a newborn and health problems, which occur more frequently.
4. Is guided by teamwork principles when solving the problems related to neonatal nursing care in role plays, values ethical convictions, and supports the family in making informed health choices. |
