| Learn about the key concepts, philosophy and international work in nursing/midwifery. |

Student:
1. Describes the historical formation of nursing and midwifery in Estonia, in Europe and worldwide.
2. Knows the main concepts of nursing/midwifery and connections between them.
3. Argues over the ethical standpoints in nursing and midwifery, justifying positions using ethical values in health care.
4. Gives an overview of contemporary tendencies in midwifery and nursing science, as well as the key nursing theoreticians, their ideas and work.
5. Understands the foundations of midwifery activities drawing on the midwifery model built on midwifery philosophy and is capable of an argument-based discussion over the philosophical standpoints in midwifery. |
