| Aim |
| Student is able to construct acrylic removable partial and complete dentures. |

| Study outcome |
After the practice, student:
1. Understands and uses professional terminology in practice documentation and during the presentation of report;
2. Considers the principles of function, occlusion and aesthetics when constructing acrylic dentures;
3. Is able to choose and use materials, appliances and equipment according to the nature of work, while following guidelines and requirements for safety and environmental sustainability;
4. Is able to construct denture bases and individual spoons for partial and complete dentures;
5. Knows the construction and work principles of articulator and is able to fix work models into an articulator;
6. Is able to determine the tooth equator and location of clamp with a parallelometer and to bend clamps;
7. Is able to remodel out of wax base, considering the functional, aesthetic and hygienic requirements and the anatomy of the mouth;
8. Is able to fix acrylic teeth on bases according to morphological characteristics and the rules for stacking teeth, is able to make denture repairs and to rebase;
9. Knows the different methods for flacking and polymerisation and is able to flack a sample with teeth, pick a suitable acrylic and place a flack.
10. Knows and is familiar with different instruments and equipment for treating and finishing dentures and is able to treat acrylic denture plates after polymerisation;
11. Describes and evaluates work process and the completed work, analyses the technological, organisational and supervision-related reasons behind successes and failures;
12. Is able to document and describe work environment, supervision, work organisation, technologies, completed dental restorations, problem solving etc in practice report. |
