| Aim |
Student learns to know and use elements of partial dentures, is able to construct and remodel partial dentures.
Student acquires the technological skills of making partial dentures through practical assignments. |

| Study outcome |
After passing the subject, student:
1. Knows and uses terminology related to partial dentures;
2. Knows and recognises the classifications of dental arch defects and casted framework partial dentures, indications and contraindications to prosthetic dentistry, different stages of making dentures;
3. Considers the principles of function, occlusion and aesthetics when making partial dentures;
4. Knows and is able to use parallelometer and is able to conduct parallelometer analysis for making partial dentures;
5. Knows and is familiar with the requirements for partial dentures: measurements, location, aesthetics, functionality, hygiene;
6. Knows and is familiar with the laboratory stages of manufacturing partial dentures; recognises the elements of partial dentures and is able to manufacture casted framework partial dentures;
7. Is able to remodel the base of partial dentures made of non-precious metals with the aid of suitable materials and equipment;
8. Is able to make partial denture bases of wax and polymerising acrylic, is able to place artificial teeth on partial dentures;
9. Is able to perform final finishing on partial dentures. |
