| Aim |
Student:
1. Knows, is familiar with and can construct aesthetic and functional partial or Bugel dentures and orthodontic treatment devices, knows the clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing them.
2. Connects and values theoretical and practical knowledge acquired throughout studies with the profession and other subjects in the curriculum.
3. Learns to interpret dentist's prescriptions.
4. Follows the requirements for quality and professional ethics.
5. Gains experiences in teamwork in relations client, dentist, dental technician.
6. Learns to use work hours in a rational manner.
7. Learns to write, format and present documentation for study practice.
8. Continues putting together a study map. |

| Study outcome |
After the practice, student:
1. Understands and uses professional terminology in practice report.
2. Considers the principles of function, occlusion and aesthetics when making partial dentures and orthodontic treatment devices;
3. Knows and is familiar with the requirements for partial dentures frame (measurements, location, aesthetics, functionality, hygiene etc);
4. Knows and is familiar with the requirements for orthodontic treatment devices (measurements, effect, position and diameter of clasps and springs);
5. Is able to choose and use materials, instruments and equipment according to the type of work, following guidelines and requirements for work safety and environmental sustainability;
6. Knows and recognises the clinical/laboratory stages for manufacturing partial dentures and orthodontic treatment devices and is able to construct them laboratorially;
7. Continues to evaluate work process and the completed work, analyses the technological, organisational and supervision-related reasons behind successes and failures;
8. In practice report, is able to compare the reasons for choices of dental restorations, work organisation, technologies, resources etc in different practice bases. |
