| To introduce the professional identity and various work fields of occupational therapist and to give an overview of trends and factors in economy, politics and science that influence the profession. |

| Study outcome |
After passing the subject, student:
1. Is familiar with the professional identity of occupational therapist.
2. Knows the goals of occupational therapy and the peculiarities of the work of occupational therapist in various fields of work.
3. Has an overview of trends and factors that influence the profession of occupational therapist on local, national and international level and can take these into account.
4. Is capable to take into account the developments that take place in social work, education, health care, the society and legislation on local, national and international level and which influence the services of occupational therapy. |
