1 To introduce philosophical approach to human nature, and develop thinking and analyzing skills;
2 to provide knowledge about the processes and human behaviour in society. |

| Study outcome |
Having passed the subject, the student:
1 knows the basic principles of philosophy and sociology, basic theories and different paradigms that explain the development of society;
2 knows the central concepts and theories of ethics, and directions in philosophy;
3 is able to discover social problems and to find possibilities for solving them;
4 has knowledge about social conditions having influence on human health;
5 understands the variety of attitudes and values in society, and is able to respect individual differences, cultural beliefs, traditions, and their influence on human behaviour. |
