| To acquire foundation knowledge about causes and onset of diseases, signs and disease-related changes in the human body. |
|
| Study outcome |
1. Knows fundamental processes and concepts of general pathology.
2. Knows etiopathogenesis and pathogenesis of most prevalent diseases, and ways to prevent the diseases treating each organ system separately.
3. Has basic knowledge about microbiology and function of the immune system, most common micro-organisms and diseases caused by them affecting human functioning.
4. Knows genetic bases and understands the nature of heredity and mutability, has foundation knowledge about more common chromosomal and genetic diseases, and possibilities to apply genetics in medicine. |
