| Aim |
| To acquire basic knowledge about the main terminology and theories used in sociology, and of the links between health and social inequalities, and is able to value the role of sociology both in theory and practice of health promotion. |

| Study outcome |
1. Is able to explain the main terminology used in sociology, to analyse the major sociological theories used in health promotion, and understands the starting points of the sociological sense of the world.
2. Is able to create links between the common beliefs, social stratification and social demographic characteristics with the health of population, population groups and an individual.
3. When solving practical health promotion tasks, is able to use appropriate theories and models of sociology. |
