Learning outcomesThe graduate:
1. has a systematic overview about the basic concepts, theoretic knowledge, practical skills and ethic attitudes of nursing for tolerant attitude towards the diversity of values of patient/client and colleagues; offers quality nursing care and is responsible for decisions related with professional work; 2. applies process-based nursing care by connecting nursing theory with practice: collects information, evaluates and analyzes critically the necessity for nursing aid in cooperation with patient/client; plans nursing care accordingly with patient’s needs and evaluates the impact of this care; 3. evaluates the impact of nursing on society with the aim of promoting community’s health: informs, teaches, instructs, supports and encourages person, family and community in preserving health, preventing and recovering from diseases, and restoring well-being; 4. communicates with patients/clients, their close ones and other team members by proceeding from holistic human approach and multiculturalism in society; 5. knows team work principles, the basics of management and entrepreneurship, and can apply the acquired knowledge and skills in one’s work; 6. reads scientific literature in Estonian and English languages, recognizes the actual topics in nursing, is able to formulate them as the objectives of research and development works, has a systematic overview about the main research methods used in nursing science; initiates and/or participates in research and development works; 7. is able to use know-how from other disciplines in offering nursing care in the framework of nurse’s competence; includes representatives from other professions in offering aid and security to patient/client; 8. knows the prerequisites and possibilities of lifelong learning and professional development.
