Conditions for completion of the curriculum

The learning theory in nurse specialist training is 45 ECTS, where 3 ECTS will be awarded from final exam and 9 ECTS from the elective modules. Practical training in work environment is 15 ECTS.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the mental health nursing module, student:
1. Knows the responsibilities and tasks of a specialized mental health nurse in health care and is able to provide independent patient-centered nursing care according to the needs of patient/client in fields of mental health nursing.
2. Is able to determine the need for research and development, analyze and evaluate the possibilities for applying research outcomes and use them for developing mental health nursing.
3. Is able to lead the process of performing nursing care in a multiprofessional team.
4. Is able to educate and supervise patients/clients, their loved ones, nursing professional and students in fields of mental health nursing.
