Learning outcomes

The graduate:
1.has a systematic overview about the basic concepts, theoretic principles and research methods of optometry;
2. is able to recognize interdisciplinary connections in the different application areas of optometry;
3. knows the actual problems and application possibilities in optometry;
4. is able to formulate optometry related problems, and to analyze and evaluate different solutions;
5. is able to independently collect information by using suitable methods and instruments, and to critically and creatively interpret it;
6. is able to select and use suitable methods and technologies in solving optometry related tasks within the given frames, and to modellate and/or evaluate possible consequences by proceeding from given information;
7. shows initiative and responsibility in launching projects, and the managing and teamwork skills in the execution of these projects;
8. possesses communication skills, and also information and communication technologies that are necessary for work;
9. is able to explain optometry related problems orally and in written form in study language and at least one foreign language, and to participate in speciality discussions.
10. is ready to participate actively in civil society and is tolerant towards the diversity of attitudes and values;
11. is able to evaluate the role and consequences of professional activities on society by following social and ethical aspects;
12. is able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in work, being ready to act in one’s speciality as a specialist or an entrepreneur;
13. is able to continually and independently develop oneself in speciality and professionally.
