Learning outcomesThe graduate:
1.Has a systematic overview about the competencies of midwife and nurse in health care and society; 2. has knowledge, skills, ethic attitudes and the readiness for offering independent midwifery and nursing care and carrying the responsibility as an employer or employee; 3. is able to explain and discuss about the profession’s problems in Estonian and one foreign language, and by proceeding from the problem to offer secure midwifery/nursing care; 4. knows and considers in one’s work the customs, beliefs and attitudes of people from different cultures and subcultures; 5. is able to apply instructing and managing knowledge; 6. applies teamwork principles in professional activity on the levels of individual and society by cooperating with representatives of different disciplines; 7. is able to collect necessary information by not harming the interests of patient/client and society, to critically and creatively analyze it and to apply the results; 8. has a readiness for lifelong self-instructing learning and professional improvement; 9. has knowledge about the principles of research and about the possibilities of applying these principles in the profession’s development by using various information and communication technologies; 10. has completed the requirements for midwife’s and nurse profession stated by European Union directives.
