Curriculum: Dental technician 2011
Conditions for completion of the curriculumThe curriculum is divided into four courses: course I, II, III 60 ECTS and course IV - 30 ECTS
Learning outcomesThe graduate:
1.has a systematic overview about the concepts, theoretical foundations of dental technology, and about the technologies of producing dentures; 2.knows and recognizes the application possibilities and actual problems in dental technology profession, is able to formulate, analyze, connect them with other specialities and to offer different solutions; 3.orients in evidence based speciality information, is able to collect it independently, to critically analyze and use it; 4.by using suitable methods and technologies: is able to produce dentures for oral cavity and also orthodontic treatment appliances, at the same time predicting and evaluating the possible consequences; 5.possesses the basic principles of management, entrepreneurship and teamwork skills necessary for working as a dental technician; 6.is able to explain dental technology related problems orally and in written form in Estonian and English languages, uses modern information technology instruments and communication technologies; 7.is able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in work, is ready to act as a dental technologist by following the principles of profession ethics; 8.understands the prerequisites and possibilities of lifelong learning, is informed about the newest dental technological achievements.
