Subject 'Theory of ophthalmic lenses II'

Objective
To provide detailed knowledge about the different types and
constructions of spectacle lenses, about their surface coverings
and ways of improving their quality.

Learning outcomes
Having passed the subject, the student:
1. knows the vocabulary and terminology used in the
profession, and is able to use it;
2. knows the optic constructions of lenses and geometric options for changing optic qualities of lenses;
3. is aware of different ways for using spectacle lenses and able to assess the suitability of various optic constructions for solving specific tasks;
4. knows the methods of post-processing the quality of lenses
with the aim of enhancing the optical qualities of lenses;
5. by proceeding from client’s necessities, can recommend
best appliances for correcting vision.
