Aim

To acquire readiness to provide a woman-centred and family-centred midwifery care involving health promotion and health maintenance, and prevention of illnesses and injuries.

Study outcome

1. Describes the classification, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, research methods, treatment and preventative principles of common gynaecological infectons and sexually transmitted diseases (STD).
2. Defines the needs and problems of midwife care in gynaecological diseases and STD´s.
3. Applies the principles of health education in patients with gynaecological diseases and STD´s and patients´ families.
4. Describes the nature of infertility treatment and ethics involved.
