Subject 'Pharmacotherapy II'

To provide students knowledge on pharmacotherapy: different groups of prescription medicines, their effect on organism and usage in the treatment of diseases.

Upon completion of the subject, the student:
1. Knows the most commonly used drug groups, their effects on the body and the factors influencing the effects of the drugs.
2. Knows the indications and contraindications of the main prescription drug groups.
3. Is able to explain the side effects and interactions of prescription drugs.
4. Possesses general knowledge of the disease, for the treatment of which prescription drug groups are used.
5. Is able to use information sources: pharmacology reference books, manuals and Internet-based sources.
6. Knows the general principles of treatment of acute drug poisoning.
