Aim

To provide knowledge of the body based healthy diet, to deal with food and nutrition-related basic concepts, to explain the tasks of and needs for nutrients in the body and thereby to shape ability in the student to eat in a healthy and balanced way and to use the acquired knowledge in future professional work.

Study outcome

Upon completion of the subject, the student:
1. Has knowledge of the main nutrients of the body and of their role in the body.
2. Is familiar with the nutrition related terminology.
3. Has knowledge of the basics of healthy eating and is able to implement them in their professional work.
