Subject 'Botany I'Name in Estonian: Botaanika I
AimTo acquire the basic knowledge of the structure of plants and their functions in order to pass specialty subjects related to medicinal plants (pharmacognosy, phytotherapy) and to understand the importance of plants in nature and human life.
Study outcome1. Has knowledge of the structure of plant cells, plant tissues and plant organs and of their function in plants.
2. Is able to explain the specific nature of plant breeding and their life cycle. 3. Has knowledge of the principles of plant classification. 4. Knows the richest in the species plant families and the most important plant species, cultivated plants and medicinal plants belonging to them. 5.
