To provide general knowledge of the historical development in the field of health promotion, health systems, public health status and key concepts of health and health promotion, and to explain the role of the health promotion specialist in the society.

1. Knows the historical development of health promotion and is able to distinguish between health and health care systems.
2. Has an overview of the population health status and its dynamics in comparison with other countries.
3. Analyses the concepts of health and health promotion and different approaches in health promotion.
4. Relates the roles of health promotion and health promotion specialist in the society.
