Aim

To provide a basic knowledge of the chemical structure of the main medicinal substances, their physical and chemical properties and pharmaceutical analysis.

Study outcome

1. Knows the basic concepts of pharmaceutical chemistry.
2. Is capable to explain the basic structure of medicine groups and the chemical structure and properties of the medicinal substances belonging therein.
3. Is familiar with the principles of identification and quantitative determination of major therapeutic agents.
4. Knows the requirements for the chemical purity of therapeutic agents.
5. Knows the storage requirements of therapeutic agents.
