To provide knowledge on pharmacotherapy: different groups of medication, their effect on organism and their use in the treatment of diseases. Knowledge on pharmacokinetics of medicines, pharmacodynamics, side effects and interactions.

1. Has knowledge on the most often used over-the-counter medicine groups, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the groups.
2. Has knowledge on the effect of the most over-the-counter medicines on organism and of factors affecting the effect of medicine.
3. Has knowledge on the indications and contraindications of the main over-the-counter medicines.
4. Has knowledge on the side effects and interactions of over-the-counter medicines, knows the main principles of acute medicinal intoxication.
5. Is capable to use the sources of information (reference books and online sources) on over-the-counter medicines.
