Aim

To provide knowledge on pharmacotherapy: different medicine groups, their effect on organism and usage in treatment of diseases. Also possesses knowledge on medicine pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, side effects and interactions.

Study outcome

1. Has knowledge on the main medicine groups, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the groups.
2. Has knowledge on the effect of the main medicine groups on the organism and the factors affecting the effect of medicines.
3. Has knowledge on the main indications and contraindications of the main medicine groups.
4. Has knowledge on the side-effects of medicines, their interaction and knows the main principles of acute medicine intoxication.
5. Is capable to use the information sources of medicines: pharmacological reference books, handbooks and online sources.
