AimObjective
1. To provide an overview about the principles of pharmacology, the different treatment forms and methods of administering medication; 2. to provide an overview about the most common treatment groups, the using of medication, the contraindications and side-effects, paying primary attention on the medication used in the diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases. Having passed the subject, the student: 1. possesses knowledge about the impact of medication on organism and the factors influencing these impacts; 2. knows different forms of treatment, methods of administering medication, and the dependence of medication’s impact from the form and method of administering; 3. possesses knowledge about the most common medication groups, their pharmacoginetics, pharmacodynamics, their indications and contraindication for use, and side effects; 4. possesses knowledge about the medication used in the diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases; 5. is able to use pharmacology reference books and handbooks, and internet sources.
