To provide knowledge on the basics of phytotherapy and the use of plants in treatment of disorders and pathological abnormalities of the human organism. To acquire basic knowledge on medicinal herbs, medicinal plants, their main active ingredients and biosynthesis of the ingredients.

1. Knows medicinal plants, the principles and methods of usage in treating specific diseases.
2. Knows the most important groups of active ingredients in medicinal plants, the chemical composition of the substances and mechanisms of biosynthesis.
3. Knows the substances on which depends the pharmacological effect of most important medicinal plants.
4. Knows the principles of collecting, drying and preserving medicinal plants.
