Aim

1 To provide knowledge about aging process, the physical and mental changes accompanying aging, and the effect of these changes on the quality of life;
2 to provide an overview about the most widely spread pathological changes and the differences between these changes that are result of physiological changes of aging.

Study outcome

Having passed the subject, the student:
1 knows the theories of aging;
2 has an overview about the physical and mental changes accompanying aging;
3 has knowledge about the most widely spread geriatric diseases (including dementia) and psycho-geriatric disorders, and about the problems with occupational performance related with pathological aging.
